1]einstein theory of relativity

Albert Einstein, in his theory of special relativity, determined that the laws of physics are the same for all non-accelerating observers, and he showed that the speed of light within a vacuum is the same no matter the speed at which an observer travels

2]THE SHAPE OF DNA

James Watson, co-discoverer of the structure of DNA, reported stumbling upon the double-helix image for the DNA chain through his dream of a spiral staircase. Picking up on the theme, this month, we set out to learn more about the role of our DNA structure, and it's relationship with the conscious mind.

3]THE TERMINATOR

Director James Cameron said the titular character in The Terminator was inspired by a dream he had under the influence of a soaring fever. It was a vivid dream where a gleaming figure of doom emerged from fire; a metallic, skeletal monster with a rictus smile and burning red eyes, dragging itself across the floor with kitchen knives. He states: "I was sick and dead broke in Rome, Italy, with a fever of 102, doing the final cut of Piranha II. That's when I thought of Terminator. I guess it was a fever dream."^[1]

4]GOOGLE

The creation of Google can be traced back to a dream and the fear of a clerical error. Back in 1996, Larry Page had an irrational fear that he was admitted into college because of an error and believed he would be kicked out of college at any moment. That anxiety fuelled a dream of downloading and storing the Internet on individual PCs. When he woke up, he was curious to see if it was possible so he did the math. Given the amount of data, it wasn’t — but he could save them all as individual links. That gave him the idea of creating a searchable database of links to web pages and that led to the creation of Google.


5]Frankenstein

Mary Shelley's Frankenstein was inspired by a dream:

"I saw the pale student of unhallowed arts kneeling beside the thing he had put together. I saw the hideous phantasm of a man stretched out, and then, on the working of some powerful engine, show signs of life, and stir with an uneasy, half-vital motion. Frightful must it be; for supremely frightful would be the effect of any human endeavor to mock the stupendous Creator of the world
